Why We Built M&W Guns

Back around 2019 my wife told me she wanted all my hunting “stuff” out of the house. I told her there was no way it was all going in the shop — I’d have to build a building to make that work. She said, “Well, get to building.” The concrete was poured and I started planning. A good friend from the fire department built the frame and skinned it. I learned a lot about woodworking and electricity, but we got it done. Now I had a free-standing “man cave” and plenty of wall space to fill. After a few trips to hunt in other countries, it was filling up fast. Then my son Morgan and I decided we wanted to sell guns. My career as a firefighter is winding down, but Morgan is just starting his career in law enforcement. We applied for everything and, after a few months, M&W Guns was born. Since then we’ve added accessories, thermal products, suppressors, and just about every kind of ammunition. Our logo features a red and blue line, and we offer a discount program for military and first responder customers.

Welcome to M and W Guns! Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive. If you don’t see your question here, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

  • Can I have a firearm shipped directly to my home?

No. By federal law, firearms cannot be shipped directly to your home. All firearms must be shipped to a licensed FFL (Federal Firearms License) dealer near you.

  • What is an FFL dealer?

An FFL dealer is a federally licensed firearms dealer authorized to conduct background checks and transfer firearms to customers. You will pick up your firearm from them once the background check is complete.

  • How do I choose an FFL dealer?

When placing your order, you’ll need to provide the name and contact information of a local FFL dealer. We will ship your firearm directly to them. If you don’t already have one, you can search online for “FFL dealer near me” or contact us for assistance.

  • Do I need a background check?

Yes. Federal law requires all firearm purchases to go through a background check before the firearm can be transferred to you.

  • Can I pick up my firearm in-store?

Yes, if you are local. You may pick up firearms at our store after passing your background check. A valid government-issued photo ID is required at pickup.

  • Can accessories or ammo be shipped directly to me?

Yes! Accessories and most ammunition can be shipped directly to your home, unless restricted by state or local laws.

  • Are there restrictions on what I can buy?

Yes. Firearm laws vary by state and city. It is your responsibility to know and comply with your local laws before placing an order.

  • What forms of ID do I need?

A valid government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license) is required for all firearm pickups.

  • Can someone else pick up my firearm for me?

No. The person who purchased the firearm must be the one to complete the background check and pick up the firearm.
